Biography

Daniel Allot is the Chief Opinion Editor at The Hill. In early August Daniel announced that the opinion team was starting a special series called “How to Fix America” in which he invited prominent thinkers, journalists, lawmakers and others to offer solutions to some of America’s most pressing problems. The Hill has recently made clear that any opinion submissions “touched” by A.I. will not be accepted for publication.

Daniel is the author of the 2020 book, “On the Road in Trump’s America: A Journey Into the Heart of a Divided Nation.” Prior to researching and publishing his book, he was the Washington Examiner’s deputy commentary editor. Before joining the Examiner in 2015, he worked as a freelance writer and contributor to Investor’s Business Daily’s Leaders and Success page. He was also a senior writer at American Values, a Washington, D.C. based public policy organization. Daniel has written for the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Politico, USA Today, National Review, and dozens of other publications. He has also edited several books. He’s a former National Review Institute Washington Fellow. Daniel is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Madison and Georgetown University’s Public Policy Institute. He was born in Reading, England and has lived in England, New York, Wisconsin, Hawaii, Spain, and Washington, DC.
