Biography

Laura Wilson is a Senior Vice President in the digital practice in the Washington, DC office of Weber Shandwick. She has 14 years of experience in the digital communications space and she has a track record for creating or improving successful social media programs for major brands like U.S. Army, United States Postal Service, Siemens, Lockheed Martin, Boston Consulting Group, and TIAA. Laura’s expertise includes social media strategy, social executive thought leadership programs, social customer care and community management programs, content strategy and development, social media training, paid social media campaigns, platform fluency, and social listening and analytics programs. Prior to joining Weber Shandwick Laura was the Senior Director, Digital Engagement for Georgetown University one of the world’s leading international research universities. At Georgetown she led the university’s social media and creative services teams including its award-winning first-person video documentary series Georgetown Stories. Prior to Georgetown, Laura held in-house roles managing global social media programs for Hilton Hotels and Resorts, the flagship brand of Hilton, and SaaS company Cvent. Laura began her career working at Walt Disney World and has never stopped looking for ways to bring the magic. A frequent public speaker, Laura has presented keynotes and workshops at marketing and communications conferences, corporate retreats, and in university settings, including currently serving as an instructor at Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies. Laura holds a B.A. from Virginia Tech and is a double Hoya with a Master’s in Public Relations & Corporate Communications from Georgetown and an Executive Master’s in Global Strategic Communications from Georgetown. During the pandemic, Laura began an MBA in Data Analytics from Longwood University and will complete her degree in 2022.
